A secure and confidential service
The manuscripts you send us often contain unpublished research, respondent data, or ideas that have not yet been made public. That is why the confidentiality and security of your documents are our top priority. These are the measures we take to keep every document we receive secure and confidential.
Confidentiality measures
- Editors bound by confidentiality. Every editor and translator is bound by a duty of confidentiality and will not disclose your manuscript or data to anyone outside the Errata team.
- Your manuscript is used only for your order. Manuscripts are never shared, published, sold, or used for anything other than the order you placed.
- Personal data is never shared. Your name, email, phone number, and institution are used only to process orders, issue invoices, and send notifications.
- Non-disclosure agreement (NDA). On request, we will sign a written non-disclosure agreement before work begins. Contact our admin to arrange it.
See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Security protocol
- Encrypted connection. The entire website, including file uploads and downloads, runs over HTTPS, so your data cannot be read by others in transit.
- Private storage. Manuscripts, edited files, and transfer receipts are kept in private storage with no public address and cannot be accessed directly from the internet.
- Restricted access. Files can only be downloaded by you as the order owner, your assigned editor, and authorised staff. Access rights are checked on every download.
- Sign in with Google. You sign in with your Google account, so we never store your password.
- Logged activity. Staff actions in the system, such as order status changes and payment verifications, are recorded in an activity log for auditing.
